I wrote Along Came a Demon, book one of the Whisperings series
of paranormal mysteries specifically for a person who likes urban fantasy. I whipped out the first version of Along Came
a Demon in about 3 weeks and published it on Lulu. Many revisions followed before Along Came a Demon Second Edition was
published on Amazon. Book two, The Demon Hunters is now also available on Amazon.
I also ventured into the world of Amazon.com Kindle, a whole new experience
in formatting.
I stuck with areas with which I'm familiar. That is why Tiff Banks,
the heroine of the Whispering series, lives in the Wasatch Mountain Range of Northern Utah. I transported the city I once
lived in up into my mountain valley and voila! Clarion came into being. Up here we don't wear micro skirts, or
tight leather outfits, or stiletto heels, so neither does Tiff. She dresses for the climate and she really doesn't care what
she wears as long as it covers her. Tiff is definitely not chick-lit. Tiff (don't call me Tiffany) is a strong, independent
woman. There are soft places in her heart and a few insecurities, but those are well and truly hidden from her fellow protagonists
(or so she thinks.) She lives alone - if you don't count her spectral roommates - and struggles to make ends meet. Tiff tells
others she's a psychic, but the truth is, she sees and converses only with the shades of people who died a violent death.
Tiff occasionally works with local, and sometimes national, police departments, tracking down killers.
In Along Came a Demon, the ghost of a dead woman invades Tiff's personal
space, and what appeared to be a simple, local case, develops into a race against time to find an international
serial killer before he strikes again. And then Tiff is given a police partner she can not trust.
Dead people are not the only supernaturals Tiff sees. They are Gelpha, but
Tiff called them demons long before she knew their true name and can't get out of the habit. They live in an alternate reality,
a different space that coexists with our world. They also live in our reality and have done so for a very long time. Tiff
is one of the few people who can recognize them for what they actually are. There are good demons, and there are bad demons.
The question is, which variety is the new man in Tiff's life?

GET TO KNOW TIFF BANKS.
Tiff spent most of her life in small-town Utah. She often uses cliches in
her speech and words that are specific to the area, and perhaps not considered fashionable. She uses profanity in her own
mind, but not often out loud. She's not descriptive when it comes to sex, that's not her style, but she'll give you enough
information and hints to let you know she definitely enjoys it. Neither is she all that descriptive when it comes to pain
- it hurts, it really hurts, but she takes it stoically because there's no alternative. Tiff talks to you as if she's
chatting with a friend; sometimes she'll tease you. She has a conscience but is not above shoving it to the back of her
mind if something less than ethical will get results. She can be contrary and stubborn just for the sake of it, as her lover
and partner knows only too well.
I've been asked how Tiff developed her ability to see the dead. The
moment when Tiff first saw a dead person is revealed in The Demon Hunters, but you'll have to wait another couple of
books to learn why Tiff sees them. I have also been asked what happened in Tiff's past to make her distrustful of other
people. Find out in Demon on a Distant Shore. I hope you enjoy the books as much as I did writing them.
